Establish ship navigation monitoring and warning system integrating wind and wave patterns
This study aims to develop a wind and wave warning interface for the waters surrounding Taiwan. It involves the rapid calculation of typhoon-induced waves in the area, the integration of an automated module for generating this information, and the use of existing AIS systems in conjunction with wind and wave forecast data to establish a warning system. The aim is to support the long-term development strategy of the Taiwanese government in terms of ocean policy management and administration, by establishing comprehensive monitoring of vessel navigation safety. This can assist the Ministry of Transportation's harbor bureau in enhancing vessel navigation safety management during typhoons, provide reference for the Coast Guard Administration in conducting sea rescue operations, as well as offer guidance for port companies in vessel navigation safety information and planning for vessel navigation and evacuation from ports, ultimately improving vessel safety in Taiwanese waters.
