Statistical item definition:(1) Dropout students: referred to as dropouts, it refers to students in junior high school who are found to have been absent from school without leave or for unknown reasons for more than 3 days, or transferring students who have not reported to the new school.(2) Reasons for dropping out:1. Personal factors: including physical disabilities or serious illnesses, violating criminal laws, intellectual disabilities, experiencing sexual abuse, mental or psychological illnesses, engaging in sexual transactions, pregnancy and childbirth, marriage, lifestyle, other personal factors.2. Family factors: the death or disappearance of a parent or guardian, severe disability or illness of a parent or guardian, divorce or separation of a parent or guardian, improper discipline by a parent or guardian, abuse or harm by a parent or guardian, influence of a parent or guardian's occupation or bad habits, family discord, the need to take care of family members, inconvenient home transportation, economic factors, other family factors.3. School factors: lack of interest in school life, not adapting to school curriculum, excessive exam pressure, poor teacher-student relationships, improper discipline by teachers, poor relationships with peers, being bullied by classmates and afraid to go to school, violating school rules, excessive absenteeism, other school factors.4. Social factors: influenced by classmates who have dropped out, lured by bad friends outside of school, joining gangs or youth organizations, lingering or being addicted to internet cafes, lingering or being addicted to other entertainment venues, other social factors.5. Other factors: other reasons not mentioned above. (3) The number of dropouts returning to school is also calculated based on the number of people, and if the same student returns to school twice in one academic year, it is still counted as one person.
