The rate of healthcare professionals advising smokers over 18 to quit
The definition of "smoking cessation rate among smokers advised by healthcare providers" refers to the ratio of current smokers (those who have smoked over 100 cigarettes from the past to present, and have used tobacco products in the past 30 days) who have been advised by healthcare providers to quit smoking within the past twelve months. The calculation formula is as follows: number of respondents aged 18 and above who answered "healthcare providers advised me to quit smoking in the past twelve months" divided by the number of respondents aged 18 and above who answered "smoked over 100 cigarettes so far" and "smoked daily or occasionally in the past 30 days" and "had contact with healthcare providers in the past twelve months," multiplied by 100%. Information source: The survey was conducted by the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare, using telephone interviews to collect smoking-related information from the public.
