To increase resource recycling, reduce garbage, implement the concept of turning garbage into gold, inspire community vitality, promote environmental education and improve environmental sanitation, the New Taipei City Environmental Protection Bureau launched the "Gold Recycling Station" policy at the end of August 2011. This policy encourages neighborhood leaders to set up recycling stations. Residents can bring recyclable materials to the recycling stations, weigh them, accumulate points, and exchange them for special garbage bags in New Taipei City.
