This article is written in response to the theme of "Treatment of Domestic Violence Offenders by Correctional Agencies," mainly introducing the application of foreign systems. The article explains the measures proposed by Japan for preventing and controlling domestic violence, focusing on the actual situation of offenders receiving corrective treatment within institutions. It first introduces the basic concept of domestic violence and the emergence of specialized laws, clarifying related terms and legal background. Then, the article specifically introduces the types and content of corrective treatment for offenders within institutions, with special focus on the use and changes of "improvement guidance." Finally, using the example of Kokubunji Prison, it introduces the practical operation in recent years and provides some preliminary observations in the conclusion.
