The analysis of case studies on strengthening adaptive capacity of the highway system in response to climate change (with annex) - Guidelines for climate change adaptation in the highway system planning phase
To strengthen adaptive capacity to climate change in various fields, our country announced and implemented the "Greenhouse Gas Reduction and Management Law" in July 2015, and amended it to the "Climate Change Response Law" in February 2023. Article 19 stipulates that the competent authorities of the central objective enterprise should establish a four-year period for adapting action plans in areas vulnerable to climate change impacts to cope with the impact of global warming under climate change. The Institute has drafted the "Adaptation Guidance for Road System Planning Phase" in the early stage of the project, in order to further guide the specific implementation by the competent authorities of road facilities. This project continues to collect and analyze adaptation practice cases and demonstrate the mechanism and practices of risk assessment and adaptation strategies with actual cases, providing reference for the competent authorities of road facilities.
