Taiwan is located in the subtropical zone and has a hot, humid, and high-salt island climate, which makes metal components highly susceptible to corrosion. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a local corrosion environment data and corrosion factor database to serve as a basis for structural anti-corrosion design and maintenance management applications. The main work items of this project include: 1. Investigation of atmospheric corrosion factors in Taiwan and on-site exposure testing of metal materials; 2. Exposure testing for underwater corrosion in port areas and seawater quality investigation; 3. Enhancement and expansion of the corrosion database; 4. Analysis of the relationship between carbon steel metals and corrosion factors.
