Criminal Case Investigation and Research on Taiwanese Indigenous Peoples (February 2023 to May of the same year) Analysis of the Background of Indigenous Defendants in Criminal Cases
This article will explore the interpretation issues faced by new immigrants defendants, the defense rights of defendants with intellectual disabilities to receive legal and social work assistance, and the cultural defense of indigenous defendants. It seeks to propose suggestions. The article believes that in addition to legislators' attention to the judicial rights of vulnerable defendants, law enforcement officers should also apply legal expertise with empathy to safeguard the judicial rights of vulnerable defendants in individual cases.
