Marine Debris Clearance Network (MDCN) Guidance Manual
The Marine Conservation Division of the Ocean Affairs Council aims to effectively remove marine debris by integrating government agencies and non-governmental organizations, establishing the Marine Debris Cleanup Network (MDCN), categorizing marine debris, simplifying reporting procedures, and safely and efficiently removing special or emergency marine waste. If the public finds marine waste, they can report it to the relevant authorities according to the instructions in the guidebook. Items such as plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and small fishing nets, which are small and relatively easy to remove, are classified as Level 1 waste, while large fishing nets or deep-sea waste are classified as Level 2 waste.
