The previous "Bicycle Lane System Planning and Design Reference Manual" was officially published in April 2013. In 2017, the "Bicycle Lane System Planning and Design Reference Manual (2017 revised edition)" was released, taking into account the legalization of the "Island-wide Bicycle Route Signage and Marking Trial Project" completed in 2017 and related regulatory revisions. In recent years, there have been many amendments to regulations related to bicycles, as well as increased emphasis on human-centered environments and the promotion of bicycle tourism. Therefore, the configuration and signage systems of bicycle lanes need to be reviewed and updated in the manual to provide planning and design reference for various units. Consequently, the "Bicycle Lane System Planning and Design Reference Manual (2025 revised edition)" is proposed.
