The indicator is defined as follows:Numerator: The number of patients who underwent fasting lipid profile tests during the statistical period in the outpatient and inpatient settings with diabetes as the main or secondary diagnosis and using diabetes medications.Denominator: The number of patients in the denominator ID.The numerator is calculated across hospitals, and the three tests with the medical order codes 09001 (serum total cholesterol CHOL), 09004 (fasting serum triglycerides TG), and 09043 (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol HDL) or 09001 (serum total cholesterol CHOL), 09004 (fasting serum triglycerides TG), and 09044 (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol LDL) are conducted in the same hospital within the statistical period in the outpatient or inpatient setting, without the requirement to be part of the same prescription case.
