Report on Trade Barriers with Taiwan in the Middle East and Africa
In order to implement the resolution of the 25th meeting of the International Trade Affairs Task Force on June 9, 2003, "Compile trade barrier investigation reports and continue to update them in the future," this report has been compiled annually and published on the website of the International Trade Bureau for reference by all sectors. The information in this report was released in 2014 and was submitted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs' overseas offices, the General Chamber of Commerce, the Foreign Trade Association, the Textile Export Promotion Association, and other public associations. The Trade Bureau invited domestic authorities involved in trade barrier identification to participate in the review, and the data set includes fields such as "country," "barrier category," "major barriers," "current status," "data source," and "response suggestions." The purpose of compiling and releasing this data is to maintain our country's rightful economic and trade interests internationally and to assist our businesses in understanding market risks. The "Middle East and Africa" region includes seven countries/regions such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Ivory Coast, and South Africa. The "barrier categories" include 13 categories such as tariffs, non-tariff barriers, customs procedures, rules of origin, and intellectual property rights.
