This map includes the distribution of soil liquefaction potential in 8 counties and cities in Taiwan. It is a regional large-scale map with a scale of 1/25000 and can provide reference for national land planning and disaster prevention planning. Further investigation and analysis are needed for planning and design of engineering cases in order to determine the liquefaction potential. The soil liquefaction potential presented in this map is calculated based on the drilling and testing results of various public engineering boreholes and geological core samples from the Geological Survey, according to the methods specified in the building regulations. The potential is classified into high, medium, and low levels. The completed map covers plain areas such as Taipei City, New Taipei City, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, Yilan County, Tainan County, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County. Continued investigation and analysis will be conducted in other plain areas, and the results will be released gradually upon completion.
