Early on, Taiwan had the construction of reservoirs, and reservoir management is one of the important work items of this department. The department maintains the basic information of the announced reservoirs every year, and the reservoir management units measure and update the data according to operational needs, with the data time mainly based on the annual report data. The content includes the year, area, reservoir name, initial water storage, inflow, power generation water volume (discharge, return flow), various water use volumes (total, agricultural, domestic, industrial), other discharge volume, flood discharge volume, loss water volume, end-of-year reservoir water volume (final water storage, silt accumulation or reduction, water level) and so on. There are more than a thousand pieces of data updated annually, serving as the basis for this department to understand the operational status of each reservoir.
