Any financial transactions that are not related to direct investment, securities investment and derivative financial instruments are classified as other investments. This includes other equity and debt instruments, the latter including cash and deposits, loans (borrowings), trade credits and advance payments (receipts), and other receivables (payables), among which unallocated gold accounts are included in deposits. Transactions are further classified into short-term and long-term according to their term, with short-term referring to contracts with a term of one year or less, and long-term referring to contracts with a term exceeding one year or with no specified maturity date.
