Taiwan Sugar Corporation's non-genetically modified soybean products are aimed at providing the people of Taiwan with safe and local agricultural products. Since 2014, the Pingtung District has expanded from a 6-hectare experimental planting area to a production area of 45 hectares in 2017, with an average yield of about 2.2 tons per hectare. The main variety currently grown is Kaohsiung No. 9, developed by the Kaohsiung Agricultural Research Institute, known for its large size, thin skin, and sweet taste, making it suitable for soybean-based dishes or homemade soy milk. Taiwan Sugar carefully selects farm areas with sufficient sun exposure and fertile soil in the Haifeng and Wandan areas. After 4 months of careful care, the soybeans are harvested when ripe and transported back to the Pingtung factory for final drying, sieving, and manual selection before being packaged. The products are then supplied to the Taiwan Sugar Commerce and Sales Department and various distributors for sale, allowing the people of Taiwan to easily purchase locally produced soybeans in the market. Taiwan Sugar Corporation has been deeply involved in Taiwan's food security and agricultural development for 70 years, and will continue to play a role in illuminating seeds and promoting the sustainable development of Taiwan's agriculture.
