Note
The retirement pension for workers is to safeguard their elderly retirement life and should not be withdrawn too early. Therefore, the Labor Retirement Pension Act (New Pension System) stipulates that the age for applying for personal retirement pension is 60 years old. Workers who participate in the new retirement system can apply for the pension once they reach the age of 60, regardless of whether they are still employed. If a worker continues to work after reaching the age of 60 and receives a retirement pension, the employer should continue to contribute to the pension, and the worker can apply for the pension once a year. If a worker dies before applying for the pension or before reaching the average remaining life expectancy or the designated age for applying for the pension, their survivors or the designated individuals in the will can apply for the retirement pension from their personal account once, or receive the actual surplus amount after settlement. The Labor Retirement Pension Act was amended on January 17, 2014, allowing workers under the age of 60 who have lost their ability to work to apply for retirement pension in advance.
