Taichung City Health Bureau's 104-year November sampling of winter solstice tangyuan food inspection results announced.
The Taichung City Government Health Bureau conducted early inspections of traditional marketplaces, restaurants, and stores in November 2015, testing a total of 76 food items such as tangyuan, sweet potato balls, rice blood cake, tofu, and condiments. The inspection results revealed that 2 sweet potato ball items and 2 condiment items exceeded the preservative benzoic acid. Additionally, 2 rice blood cake items had packaging that did not match the labels, and these non-compliant products were immediately removed from shelves and are subject to follow-up investigations by the respective health bureau.
