The National Health Insurance recommends using the following five indicators to assess the quality of care for asthma patients before seeking medical treatment: the rate of participation in the National Health Insurance Asthma Medical Benefit Improvement Plan, the rate of rehospitalization within 14 days of discharge for the same disease, the rate of control of asthma patients using short-acting beta-agonists or inhaled corticosteroids, the rate of hospitalization due to asthma attacks for patients participating in the Asthma Medical Benefit Improvement Plan, and the rate of emergency room visits due to asthma attacks for patients participating in the Asthma Medical Benefit Improvement Plan.
