According to the Patent Attorney Act, those who pass the patent attorney examination and obtain a patent attorney certificate may serve as patent attorneys. Patent attorneys should also undergo pre-service training and, according to Article 35, individuals who held certain qualifications as patent agents before the enforcement of this Act can apply for exemption from all subjects in the specialized professional and technical personnel higher examination for patent attorneys. Those who pass professional training within 3 years after the enforcement of the Patent Attorney Act can also obtain the qualifications of a patent attorney. The Intellectual Property Office holds learning assessments after completing professional and pre-service training, and publishes the test questions and answers on the Intellectual Property Office's website for reference by various sectors.
