"The source of information is from our river restoration website and e-river website. The sites were closed in July 2021, and this data is no longer updated. This dataset mainly collects domestic and foreign river restoration cases in English version reports. It not only provides domestic people with knowledge promotion of river restoration but also allows knowledge exchange with international communities through this website, enhancing Taiwan's visibility. Since 2000, various units related to water resources and soil conservation have incorporated the concept of ecological engineering into construction projects, using local natural materials as construction materials, and carrying out precast grid frame revetments, block stone revetments, and fixed bed works to create diversified water body forms, build fish habitats, and achieve the effects of flood control and ecological restoration. As for ecological engineering-related activities, since 2004, due to many areas using ecological engineering management experiencing engineering damage or the results not meeting the expected targets, this has often led to the benefits of ecological engineering not being objectively assessed, causing ecological engineering to gradually fall out of favor. However, river restoration-related fields still require further efforts."
