The content of the introduction: wages are the worker's remuneration for work, and also the main source of income for the worker and their family. Retirement benefits and severance pay are important for the worker's retirement life. To ensure immediate protection for workers in case their employer goes out of business, liquidates, or declares bankruptcy and owes wages, retirement benefits, and severance pay, the government has established the Wage Arrears Payment Fund system under Article 28 of the Labor Standards Act. This aims to promote the spirit of mutual assistance and social responsibility among businesses and strengthen the protection of workers' economic life. All business units covered by the Labor Standards Act must pay into the Wage Arrears Payment Fund, with employers contributing 0.25% of total monthly payroll costs. In the event of business closure, liquidation, or bankruptcy, the fund can advance the unpaid wages and retirement benefits. Employers are obligated to repay the advances to the Wage Arrears Payment Fund within the specified timeframe.
