1. Scope and Object of Statistics: Traffic accidents occurring on roads within the area of New Taipei City (excluding railway accidents within the jurisdiction of the city) are within the scope and object of statistics.(1) Accidents caused by the operation of automobiles, motorcycles, or power machinery are included.(2) The accidents must occur on the road.(3) The accidents must involve fatalities (i.e. those meeting the reporting conditions for the A1 type of road traffic accident investigation report).2. Statistical Standard Time: The incidents occurring from the 1st day to the end of each month will be used as the basis.3. Classification Standard: Classified according to the number of deaths and injuries and the A1 classification of road traffic accidents.4. Relevant Laws and Regulations:(1) Road Traffic Accidents: According to Article 2 of the Road Traffic Management Penalty Regulations, road traffic accidents refer to accidents involving the death, injury, or loss of vehicles or property caused by the operation of automobiles, motorcycles, or power machinery on the road.(2) Road: Refers to public roads, streets, lanes, squares, arcades, corridors, or other places open to the public.(3) The data on the causes of the accidents are based on the first party involved.(4) Number of incidents: The number of incidents is calculated according to the definition of the A1 category, i.e. A1 category cases of death.(5) The gender of the party at fault is used for statistical purposes in managing traffic accident cases.(6) The gender of the injured or deceased party is used for statistical purposes in managing traffic accident cases.(7) Number of deaths: Number of deaths in the A1 category.(8) Number of injuries: The number of injured individuals is calculated after classifying A1 category cases of death.5. Data Collection Methods and Compilation Procedures: Each traffic unit of the New Taipei City Government Police Department will submit the road traffic accident investigation report completed for the month to the Traffic Police Brigade of this department for compilation. The data for the month will then be compiled into this form by branch.
