1. Scope and Objects of Statistics: Traffic accidents occurring on roads within the Taipei City area are the subject of this statistical survey. (1) Accidents caused by the operation of motor vehicles or power machinery are included. (2) Accidents occurring on roads are included. (3) Accidents involving fatalities are included (complying with the conditions for reporting under Road Traffic Accident Investigation Report A1).2. Statistical Reference Time: Based on incidents occurring each year.3. Classification Standards: Classified according to road types and road configurations.4. Relevant Laws and Regulations: (1) Road Traffic Accidents: Defined in Article 2 of the "Regulations for Handling Road Traffic Accidents" as accidents caused by motor vehicles or power machinery on roads, resulting in fatalities, injuries, or vehicle and property damage. (2) Roads: Refers to public roads, streets, alleys, squares, covered walkways, corridors, or other public thoroughfares. (3) Road types and configurations are based on the perspective of the first party involved. (4) Special roads refer to roads exclusively used by various industries. (In the event of accidents occurring on two or more different types of roads, the road on which the first party was traveling is considered the primary road.) (5) Road traffic accidents do not include accidents involving the railway (trains) themselves, but accidents involving collisions between trains and motor vehicles or power machinery are included and referred to as level crossing accidents.5. Data Collection Methods and Compilation Procedures: The Traffic Division of the Taipei City Police Department compiles the completed monthly Road Traffic Accident Investigation Report forms and submits them to the Traffic Corps for compilation. The data for each month is then compiled into the table, sorted by police precinct, based on the information provided in the investigation report form.
